Dr. Edward N. Shearin, PhD, is Professor of Psychology at American School of Professional Psychology, Washington, DC. He received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of Washington in Seattle with Dr. Marsha Linehan. His training included 5 years at the New York Hospital – Cornell Medical Center, first as a National Institute of Mental Health-funded postdoctoral researcher and then as an instructor for the medical school and Senior Psychologist on a DBT inpatient unit. Dr. Shearin is also active at state and federal levels in advocacy for improved access to mental health services, especially for underserved populations.
